The Integrated National Board Dental Examination (INBDE) is designed to evaluate whether you are ready for safe and effective dental practice in the United States. It combines biomedical sciences, clinical dentistry, and behavioral sciences into a single, integrated examination.
The exam is administered by the American Dental Association (ADA) through the Joint Commission on National Dental Examinations (JCNDE).

Important Things to Remember
The INBDE no longer includes a live clinical skills component. However, individual state dental boards may require a separate clinical examination for licensure.
Interdisciplinary Focus (29% of the Exam)
Nearly one-third of the exam is interdisciplinary. This means you must:
- Interpret patient cases
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals
- Apply biomedical knowledge to clinical decisions
- Demonstrate ethical and professional judgment
